I have a trick for picking passwords, and I don't mind telling it since the odds of anyone who reads this web site seeing my desk are pretty long. I pick a book title from on my desk, something I always keep there, and use that. I used to use it straightforward and then just change letters to numbers (0 for o, 1 for i and l, and 3 for e). Now I use it backwards and change letters to numbers. This way, I usually get a long password that is very random and the great thing is that the password is always written in plain view for me.
