haley barbour loves negroes!

color us (no pun intended) cynical, but is anyone at all surprised at the media saturation over haley barbour's decision to commute the life sentences of two african-american women, only a week after the worst press about a public official tolerating bigotry since strom thurmond's birthday party?

Trying to make it conditional on a forced organ donation (which would be voluntarily given anyhow) is about the most loathesome thing he's done yet.

Their sentences were disgusting to begin with. Double life sentences for crimes where no one was injured, no priors and there is certainly reasonable doubt as to the extent of their involvement. Now when the one's medical treatment is costing the state $200K a year plus the usual incarceration rates are they willing to free them.
