brit hume doesn't believe in freedom of religion

and faux news apparently has merged with the televangelist hucksters.

"the extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith," hume said. "he is said to be a buddhist. i don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the christian faith. so, my message to tiger is, 'tiger, turn to the christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world." - washington monthly

as a buddhist, i am sorry that brit is so ignorant on the tenents of the buddhist religion. i "forgive him" for his ignorance but i hope that he actually takes some time to learn about the teachings of buddha before he opens up his yap again.

Why yes, we do want you to shut up about it in public. What was it Jesus said about puffed-up pontificating pontificaters puffed-up-edly pontificating on street corners?

Oh, right, put it in the closet.

Matthew 6:5-6:

When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

You want bonus points for that?

Mt 6:1-3 (just prior to the above). Do it because it's the right thing to do.

The one who is called by the name of Jesus was not a Roman and had no such Roman name. Those who call themselves Christians by invoking this name without understanding are not his followers, they align with his murderers.

100% of what he said was true.

The hubris of "Christians" like Hume.

Immediately after saying this, the next person on the panel to speak was Hume's colleague, Bill Kristol who is Jewish. This blindness and ignorance of other faiths (even those of friends sitting right next to you) just highlights the arrogance of people who claim the superiority of "their" religion over all others as a path to anything.

It is a tenant of Christianity that it is the ONLY way to salvation, etc., but it is human conceit that leads a so-called news anchor to tell a grown person to convert.

All available evidence suggests Christianity makes you more "susceptible" to infidelity than any other religion! Especially if you live in Washington, D.C., of course.
The possibility that Brit Hume will study something before he opens his mouth is about nil. I'm sure he takes great umbrage at all of us who criticize him for denigrating that infidel "religion" started by a fat fraud with a big belly.

I always said that if Jesus Christ were to return today, he would be more Buddhist than Baptist.

He never gave voice to the words attributed to him. Starting with Paul and through the Council of Nicea and to this day, Christianity has been using Christ's image and their political words to bludgeon non-believers into submission.

Jesus Christ lived and died a Jew. Sorry, but that's history. The only connection with the religion is his name. A few good deeds done by fewer people cannot undo 2000 years of bloodshed to spread the faith.

The only way to salvation is through your fellow man. Give your neighbor help up and your community will become stronger. No price for this service, no expectations, no glory, and no free ticket to paradise. Just the human thing to do.

I would love to sit under a fig tree and have a beer with Jesus, the Buddha, and Mohammad. Too bad I can't serve pork rinds.

Ah, the bigoted loony christians. They are not a very good advertisement for their own religion, are they?
