the catholic church has officially jumped the shark...
good lord.
where do you even begin to tear into this "christian" {*gag*} outfit now? what went down in maine on election day -- that i was able to stomach. gay marriage is an issue that will simply not be rushed, but time is on the side of the pro-gay marriage crowd -- the catholic church won what is known as a pyrrhic victory, whether it realizes it or not. so i could deal with the no on 1 side losing. but this...
for christ's sake -- literally -- look at the chart at the link. is there even a point in asking why the catholic church is straying as far from the teachings of jesus as it possibly can in the face of those figures? i've read the new testament. you know what jesus says about homosexuality in those pages?
not one word. not one single solitary word. read it yourself if you don't believe me.
jesus had an awful lot to say about helping the poor, the downtrodden, the hungry, the sick, the abandoned, and the weak, though, didn't he?
enjoy your pyrrhic victory in maine last week while you can, leaders of the catholic church. down the road you're goin', there ain't gonna be too many more pyrrhic victories for you to enjoy. you people are probably still at a loss to understand why so many people have left your church in the light of the myriad child abuse scandals you keep trying to cover up -- this is just the icing on the cake.
and i thought the f*&k$#g mormons were a cult...

I see no evidence the Roman church is Christian. They pervert and distort the teachings of Christ at every turn. They celebrate his crucifixion by idols everywhere. The Romans killed Jesus.

Let me say though there are many good Christians within the Roman church, as within so many other corrupt institutions. It is the institution I would correct or destroy.
Crucifixion was a Roman punishment, all right. They were the ones who crucified Jesus, not the Jews.
Ever wonder if that had anything to do with the Catholic Church being founded in Rome, though? That would seem to reflect the same twisted dynamic that allows the Church to shuffle pedophile priests from parish to parish while it condemns gay marriage.
And people think I'm a self-loathing wretch...

Jesus said his church was in Jerusalem. He told Thomas to go to James the Just when he was gone.
When Jerusalem fell, it went to Ethiopia, to the Church of St. Mary.
