a weak public plan

the senate finance committee's public health care plan, the one they have finally come up with, is a very weak plan and serves the interests of the insurance industry more than it does the public. i asked you once before to write to your senators and demand a public plan with no trigger option and also that allows the government to negotiate lower prices. now i'm asking you to write to your senators again and demand a strong public plan, one that is broader than the proposed plan and makes the government a strong and viable competitor to the insurance industry. why do we have to lag behind every other industrialized country in the world on this? tell your senators that you want the public health care plan to be as good as the public health care plan they enjoy as part of their benefits package...at taxpayer expense.

update: good article on single payer, including a link to an article that debunks the myths about canada's health care program.
