congrats

to our bud steve benen @ washington monthly, whose political animal is the 10th most influential blog in blogtopia and yes, we coined that phrase!

we'd also like to offer a laurel and hearty handshake to our other friends who placed highly:

firedoglake @ 11,
crooks & liars @ 13,
balloon juice @ 25,
hullaballoo @ 32
talkleft @ 54,
the brad blog @ 75, &
the sideshow, coming in just under the wire @ 99!

we notice two things about the list of influential political blogs -

(1) 8 of the top 15 blogs are lefties, while only five are hardly-ever-right wing blogs (the remainder being corporate shills, ie, cnn, abc); and

(2) skippy is not on the list.

bastids!!!!

addendum: whoops, we were wrong! skippy is on the list (simply search for "skippy the bush kangaroo")! both @ 457 (w/an "up" arrow) and @ 744 (w/a "down" arrow).

talk about schizophrenic!

Congratulations!

But ha - try to beat 967! Yeah, bay-bee!

It's rather scary how absolutely batshit crazy some of the top conservative blogs on the list are. I mean, it's one thing to be dumb, or to lie, but they just occupy an alternative reality on top of that.
