california leading the way yet again

but not in the way that we like to hear.
california's unemployment rate shot up to 11.5% in may, its highest level since current record-keeping began more than three decades ago.

...the national unemployment rate for may was 9.4%. - latimes
now i don't think this 11.5% includes those folks who have given up the job hunt, those who are not qualified to file for unemployment insurance or those folks who are underemployed. to factor in those, estimates of the true unemployment in california can range up to 15%.

we're hurting and sacramento is just playing freakin' political games.

I'd bet it was higher than that: closer to 20%...

lucky they've got the beach, where the unemployed can loiter unnoticed among the tourists...
