the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the moon up above...and a guy they call "gov"
the governor of south carolina disappeared for four days and nobody knew where he was, including his wife. when he came back, the story was that he went for a walk in the woods. for four days. alone. over the father's day weekend. without the knowledge of his wife or his four kids.
his wife's response when asked about her missing husband was that she was "not concerned". she later changed her story to say that he was writing a book and wanted to get away from the kids. he didn't want to get away from them by going to his office where he could probably have complete silence plus access to research materials, nor did he want to check into a hotel room where he could have silence and access to research materials or, at least a writing desk. no, he was walking in the woods all by himself on the appalachian trail...
...which doesn't pass through south carolina.
and now? he claims he was in buenos aires, argentina. duh huh? "it's a great city."
if i were a betting man, i'd bet that the governor was getting his walking stick polished by someone other than his wife. the whole story is awfully fishy, but, surprisingly, nobody claims went fishing.

Who the hell does this guy think he is? The arrogant twit walks away from his job for days, doesn't turn over his extremely important responsibilities to his Lt. Governor, tells no one where he is and comes back with a la-de-da about spending a few days in Argentina having an "adventure". To me, this all adds up to grounds for impeachment.

Let's not get carried away.
"extremely important responsibilities"
He's the governor of South Carolina, after all. His most important responsibility is looking outraged about cousins marrying jokes. It's not like he's the governor of a real state.

And,given this little trick, it's unlikely he ever will be governor of a real state.

"Gaycation"....I'm betting
Oh Jill.....no you di-int...:))
I'm not saying Democrats don't get their walking sticks polished by someone other than their spouses, but jeez louise, another Republican puritan doing it? And he apologizes to wife and kids? Like this equates with eating too much ice cream? So many have been so self-righteous for so long. I don't get it, I just don't get it. Who do these, and I mean from any party, guys think they're fooling?

I guess at this point if you're a Republican you have to roll with this and figure it's part of an overall redo of the Republican party to exclude men who are immoral. Hopefully, there are conservative men in high positions who are faithfully married and in love with their spouses to the point that they won't cheat. As far as I'm concerned, Sanford cheated the taxpayers and should resign. He was AWOL from his high paying job and irresponsible about it. End of discussion from this conservative who has been faithful to his wife for 35 years.

wow, what a way to be subtle about this cheating affair with the Argentinian woman. I wonder what his tought process was: "I will dissappear for a week, I won't tell anybody, I'll just travel half way down this continent. I'll bet nobody will notice something fishy is going on." Poor wife, she was in for a shocker!!!

Family values "Republican Style". The moral of the story, he who lives in glass homes should not throw bricks.

Bwa-ha-ha!
Sweet cheeses on toast with some slices of fruit and a good port wine, this was so freaking obviously going to be the outcome of this.
People will be staring at me all day now because I don't know when I'll be able to stop laughing at Governor Fool.
When my BS-meter goes off, you better believe some BS is in the wind.

This is good. At some point, we will reach critical mass on questions of morality and realize that personal dalliance has nothing to do with professional duty. Hopefully future generations of governors, from both sides of the aisle, will not have to lie about their whereabouts, nor will the press feel inclined to turn their personal lives into fodder for scandal.

If the Gov wanted to hide his tracks, he could have told someone he was going on a business trip or something to explain his absence and built up a cover, not just disappear like that. But oddly, no one seemed much concerned by his absence. Maybe they already knew?
What gets me is those people mentioned in the CNN report who are "praying for him and his family" as if this is some type of tragedy. The guy broke his marriage vows! He knew what he was doing, this was not an uncontrollable action.
With all the folks screaming about how gay marriage will destroy marriage as an institution, I find the sentiments that they are "praying for him" rather idiotic.
Figure this, gay marriage supposedly destroys marriage as an institution, cheating in a marriage deserves sympathy?
Gosh, what if he had cheated with a guy, would there still be prayers?

so instead of stimulus for his state, he takes it for himself...
