skippy's monday nite music club

mr. bungle - my ass is on fire

this band is not everybody's cup of tea...the first (and last) refrain comes from blue velvet, if that gives you any idea.

but tonite's featured group brings to mind a quiz we have been mulling over as of late:

close, and you get points for correctly putting "mr. bungle," which is the name of the band, under 'm' instead of 'b,' as if 'mister' were merely a title.

Hey ... what is this, school? Halloween?

This was hard work for a Monday evening. Remember that survey we had to fill out a few months ago? I'm still waiting for my prize, skippy. *ahem*

I do like Animal Collective, however. Freaky stuff. The other songs were just weird, and Godspeed is chilling and horrifying to watch. Yikes!

Okay, okay...I felt like a turd for being so snippy...

So...
I have actually heard of all these folks Except Animal Collective...
Rate them...hmmm...
1.Godspeed I like for the drama and the Bomb footage...probably a guy thing. I mean that much power being unleashed at once....it just sorta makes you think of that Indian Goddess.. Shiva, "Now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds"...
oh right somebody already thought that one up...sorry.
2.mr. bungle... name fits.
3.horse the band...are they high?
the avalanches...they are kidding right?
4.the residents...they AREW High,.. (pretty sure of it) and it works for them...

5.okay....animal collective...I did not have any acid...apparently They took it all.( or sold the residents some)...

Number one goes to Mr. Bungle in my book. But what on earth made you pick that song? If you're gonna introduce people to a band like Bungle, skippy, you gotta start 'em off light...

Big fan of Sid, not so much of the Horse. Godspeed tops my list. After that, it's a tossup between the Avalanches and the Animal Collective, followed by the Residents, and then I dunno...

Btw, Essaress, Shiva isn't the Goddess, that would be Shakti (who may be called Parvati or Kali). Shiva is the Mahadeva, the Great God.
