politics has surpassed "hollywood for ugly people"

it's not like there's any wars or massive foreclosures or unemployed americans to talk about in the news. top story tonite: enterainment weekly asks the candidates what their favorite pop culture icons are. latimes:

forget those upcoming boring political debates over the energy crisis, alternative fuel sources, the middle east situation, relations with china, national health care, immigration and unemployment. yawn.

entertainment weekly has asked john mccain and barack obama the really tough and meaty pop culture questions, and the answers may reveal the candidates' true natures and personalities as well as their ability to lead our country.

for the whole enchilada, click here and here. but here are some snippets of the presumptive democratic and republican presidential candidates views on movies, tv shows, "american idol" and which superhero they want to be.

you may be surprised.
we were quite surprised; to wit:

obama's favorite band: nwa. favorite album: fear of a black planet.

mcmuffin's favorite movie: tillie's punctured romance. favorite rock band: hoagy carmichael.

but the real surprise was mcmuffin's favorite song: slap my bitch up.
