she's not white, she's whong
we agree w/the carpetbagger report about geraldine "the devil made me do it" ferraro:
she's...what's the word? oh yes. insane.
ferraro added, “every time that campaign is upset about something, they call it racist. i will not be discriminated against because i’m white.”
it’s breathtaking to see someone destroy their own reputation with such ugly nonsense.
responding to the substance of ferraro’s remarks is difficult, given that her comments were so ridiculous, but there’s simply nothing to bolster the notion that the obama campaign is criticizing her because of the color of her skin. that’s … what’s the word … insane. indeed, “every time that campaign is upset about something, they call it racist”? i’d love to know what examples she’s talking about.
no one is trying to “discriminate” against ferraro, they’re simply arguing that clinton’s presidential campaign, which has been quick to pounce on intemperate remarks from obama associates, should disassociate itself from someone making racially-charged comments.
we used to admire ms. ferraro. we applauded when she broke her own glass ceiling to become the first female vice president nominee in this country's history. but she is going off the deep end here, first with her ill-considered remarks about obama being where he is because of the color of his skin, then with her complaints that people are reacting to those remarks because of the color of her skin.it’s breathtaking to see someone destroy their own reputation with such ugly nonsense.

I do think there's been some race-baiting and frankly a lot of it has been coming from Obama's camp, IMO. Ignoring it's use doesn't make it go away. Ignoring that Obama has regularly taken 80+% of the black vote is absurd. When Paul Begala makes some asinine remark that Obama takes in those numbers among black voters "as he should" I really have to question what the heck people are thinking. Should, by extension, Hillary be getting 80+% of the female vote?
Think about how well regarded the Clintons were among blacks and how much and how fast things have changed.
Whites overwhelmingly are not looking at Obama's race but why isn't there an ability to even address that blacks are flocking to Obama, regardless of North or South, urban or not, male or female? And Ferraro is not being racist here, she's simply expressing an opinion on how Obama's race has affected the vote. I have yet to hear anyone being called to resign because of the frequent remarks I've heard that Clinton is only where she is because she was the wife of Bill Clinton.
Both comments have a degree of racism or misogyny, but there is also a great deal of harsh reality. NOT talking about it doesn't help anyone or anything.
By the way, I posted the following here before, but it's a good article on race-baiting by Obama's campaign. It would give you some good examples of what Ferraro was talking about when she complained of being labelled racist.

This is just campaign strategy by the Clintons -- trying to win the white racist vote in PA with some reverse racism talk.
And yes, the word you're looking for is "Nixonian".
