rubbernecking

if you want to keep abreast of the economy as it circles the drain, matt yglesias suggests the following blogs:

brad de long

marginal revolution

paul krugman,

plus the atlantic's own clive crook,

as well as our old bud megan "jane galt" mcardle (tho clive and megan both tend to blog about more political than strictly economic happenings).

matt's commenters also recommend

naked capitalism

calculated risk

and economist's view.

to which we would add the bondad blog (and we would second brad de long).

addendum: tom of daai tou laam diary also recommends nouriel roubini's global economonitor, and bukko in australia recommends misch's global economic trend analysis.

No mention of Nouriel Roubini's blog

or of his sidekick, Brad Setser?

Shame on them. Shame, shame, shame.
Skipper, I also recommend a bloke named Mish who makes the gloom and doom understandable. He collects data from sources like minutes of Federal Reserve board meetings, corporate reports, the foreign press, etc., analyses it and predicts the future. The stuff I read in his blog is what I see in the New York Times a month later, after the mainstream has caught on. A true opinion leader, even though he does like Ron Paul...
