just when you thought it couldn't get any worse

sure, it was a low point for jounralism yesterday when abc news used the release of hillary clinton's schedule to tout the fact that she was in the white house the same time as monica lewinsky.

but not the lowest.

the wall street journal, not satisfied with the saliciousness of what were at least true events, delves into rumor and innuendo for their foray w/sen. clinton's schedule:

among the many things hillary clinton’s schedule sheds light on are her activities before, during and after major events in her husband’s presidential tenure — such as the death of vince foster.

that's right. vince freaking foster! the wall street journal has nothing better to report on than old, unsubstantiated (and, if we may say, particularly looney-fringe) gossip.

no, there's no financial news worthy of the journal's attention.
