hillary confounds pundits, uses democracy instead of cable news gas bags
making chris matthews, george will and everyone on faux news look even stupider than usual, sen. hillary clinton won the new hampshire primary decisively. reuters:
heaven knows we are not fans of clinton's politics, and have said elsewhere that we would vote for her only if someone shoots us in the head and sneaks into the voting booth with our body and uses our dead arm to pull the lever over her name, a metaphor that would be funny if they still had levers in voting booths.
but we are chuckling to ourselves that so many (read: all) of the pundits had written sen. clinton not only out of the new hampshire race, but out of the national race as well. only yesterday rassmussen reports wrote:

mitt, here's a tip: cry.
hillary clinton won the new hampshire democratic primary on tuesday, a huge victory that bolstered her bid for the party's presidential nomination after a third place loss in iowa last week, nbc projected.
the projected win over illinois sen. barack obama revived the former first lady's momentum as the race headed into an intense month of campaigning culminating in the super tuesday nominating contests on february 5, when voters in some 22 states pick presidential candidates.
as of this writing sen. clinton is ahead in the vote tally by 2 percentage points, garnering 39% to obama's 37%. john edwards trailed in at a disappointing 17%.the projected win over illinois sen. barack obama revived the former first lady's momentum as the race headed into an intense month of campaigning culminating in the super tuesday nominating contests on february 5, when voters in some 22 states pick presidential candidates.

rasmussen reports has been saying all year that iowa was a must-win state for barack obama. last thursday, the senator from illinois did what he had to do, delivered a convincing victory, and triggered a political earthquake. he is now poised to win a sizable victory in new hampshire, a state that hillary clinton once considered her firewall. another pillar of clinton’s strength in the race—her lead in the national polls—is also crumbling. monday’s update of the rasmussen reports daily presidential tracking poll shows clinton’s advantage shrinking to its lowest level since the very first presidential debate took place this season, more than eight months ago.

I can't stand Hillary Clinton, but I am over the moon about the results in New Hampshire, thanks to the "in-your-face" answer to all the blathering know-it-all self-important pundits. I can't watch MSNBC any more thanks to the insufferable Chris Matthews, and I can't watch CNN and listen to them touting "the best political team on television" 30 times an hour. Last night I found myself watching FOX which was surprisingly acceptable, and WAY better than the other two.
