court ruling heard 'round the town

good news for the union here in santa barbara (adobe disneyland) re: the santa barbara news-press and their union busting.
a judge has ruled that the santa barbara news-press committed flagrant violations of federal labor laws when it fired eight journalists for engaging in union activities, and he ordered that the newspaper rehire the former employees. - latimes, santa barbara independent, laobserved , craigsmith'sblog, i'm not one to blog, but....
i'm sure that "the wendy" will arm up with lawyers, probably new ones, and appeal, but it's good to know that when those with money, thinking themselves to be royalty, flagrantly break laws, they are held responsible in a court of law.

It looks good in theory, but check the outcome of the Detroit News/Free Press strike: the court instructed the paper to re-hire its fired union employees, back in - I want to say 1996. A good long while ago, anyhow. Any bets on how many got re-hired?

Can you say 'union busting?' Can you say 'contempt of court?' Can you say 'zilch-o consequences?' How about 'corporate arrogance?'

All of the above apply.
