it just had to happen the day before my vacation started...

no more seventy-two-hour workweeks for me: i've lost part of the use of my left hand.

i'm taking this in stride, though. at least i still have a left hand -- and i can still blog with it. but it's trickier than i want it to be. i'll keep everyone posted as i learn more about this problem.

til then, merry christmas to all, and to all a good night. i'll be fine, one way or another...

Get well soon!

The Norad Santa Tracker is up and running, as Santa has already hit many parts of the world.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all!

I'm so sorry to hear that, Jim. You shouldn't have to work 72 hrs/wk just to make it. What a fucked system.

Here's hoping it's a temporary aberration and everything works out ok. And the best of Xmas and New Year to you.

Merry Christmas Jim.
And Merry Christmas to Skippy too.

PoliticalCat: This 72-hour week was a one-shot fling. I was just covering for some people who were taking their own vacation days the week before I took my own. I don't know how bad the damage is, but right now it looks like I just overexerted myself to an unusually high degree. The last time I manually labored this hard, and at such ungodly hours, I was 25 or 26. I'm 37 now. Facts is facts -- I just can't be doing things like this anymore. I may not be old, but I may no longer be under warranty, either...

good luck, jim, it sounds like it could be temporary.

get well soon.

Yikes! Take good care of yourself!

And have a Merry Happy, but gently!

skippy: the problem seems to be temporary -- I've already regained most of the use of my hand that I lost. Thank goodness for that. But I've reason to believe the condition will be chronic if I'm not careful. The consensus is, I'm in the early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome. Not unusual for my line of work...
