at least the actors support the writers (officially, even!)

alan rosenberg, the goofy lawyer on the later years of la law (among other great roles), is also the current president of the screen actors guild. he has sent out the following message to sag members in support of the current wga writers strike:

while we remain hopeful that a fair and equitable agreement will be accomplished soon, the recent economic proposal from the amptp does not come close to the wga’s goals to protect its members’ interests in meaningful ways.

now more than ever, we must bolster our commitment and keep walking picket lines and letting management know that we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters at the wga.

sag members across the country have demonstrated extraordinary solidarity for striking wga members. thousands of you have been on the picket lines and series cast members have been voicing their support for wga and screen actors guild in electronic and print media worldwide.

the commitment of actors has been astounding—and our message has been heard loud and clear: the wga’s fight is our fight. all major sag contracts are up for negotiation next year, and like writers, we must address all new media formats in a meaningful way in order to protect the careers of members today and in the future.

as productions continue to shut down, please find a few hours to volunteer. information is posted daily on www.sag.org, and picket information is emailed to southern california and new york members prior to every picketing day...

so we implore you to strengthen your resolve and show your support for the wga, and we thank you for your union activism.

in unity,

alan rosenberg president
