ok, technically they weren't musicians, but they were the best tap dancers ever. ever.

I am lucky enough to have seen the Nicholas Brothers speak and show some of their films at Harvard Film Archive. As a closer these two elegant men in their eighties even danced a few steps.

Yeah, I say them perform live.

Oh, good Lord, yes! A number of years ago there was a PBS program about the Nicholas Brothers. If it runs again, don't miss it. And Stormy Weather is a fantastic movie.

I was fortunate enough to see Cab Calloway live in a production of Bubblin' Brown Sugar at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NY back in the late 1970's. He brought down the freakin' house.

For the record, the Paper Mill Playhouse is in Millburn, NEW JERSEY. Gheesh! Doesn't NJ get enough disrespect?
