larry craig doesn't like mitt "out sound" romney, but bob jones iii sure does.
nothing more anti-christian than jesus.
mitt better hope that the bob jones endorsement will give his campaign a boost, as he's still polling a weak 4th, even behind fred "what i don't have in factual knowledge i make up with my boring presentation" thompson:
good luck, mitt! sounds like you're going to need it!
idaho senator larry e. craig is lashing out at mitt romney, who unceremoniously dumped craig from his campaign after craig's arrest in a minneapolis airport bathroom sex sting and called the conduct "disgraceful."
"i'd worked hard for him here in the state," craig told nbc's matt lauer in an interview to be aired tuesday, according to the associated press. "i was a co-chair of his campaign on capitol hill. and he not only threw me under his campaign bus, he backed up and ran over me again."
the romney campaign responded to craig's remarks by issuing a statement that the senator resigned from his campaign positions "because he did not want to be a distraction." bosglobe
apparently the romney campaign doesn't have a stance wide enough to accomodate the senator. but that only makes bob jones the third (yes, there were two other bob joneses before him) of bob jones university happy:"i'd worked hard for him here in the state," craig told nbc's matt lauer in an interview to be aired tuesday, according to the associated press. "i was a co-chair of his campaign on capitol hill. and he not only threw me under his campaign bus, he backed up and ran over me again."

bob jones iii, chancellor of the christian fundamentalist school named for his family, is endorsing republican mitt romney for president...
jones didn't immediately respond to a message left tuesday evening by the associated press. but he told a greenville newspaper that supporting romney is critical to make sure former new york mayor rudy giuliani doesn't win the gop nomination and that democratic presidential candidate hillary rodham clinton doesn't win the election.
"if it turns out to be giuliani and hillary we've got two pro-choice candidates, and that would be a disaster," jones told the greenville news for a story on its web site tuesday. - asspress
the interesting thing about this is that bob jones admits out loud that religion and conservative thought are two different things:jones didn't immediately respond to a message left tuesday evening by the associated press. but he told a greenville newspaper that supporting romney is critical to make sure former new york mayor rudy giuliani doesn't win the gop nomination and that democratic presidential candidate hillary rodham clinton doesn't win the election.

"as a christian i am completely opposed to the doctrines of mormonism," jones told the newspaper. "but i'm not voting for a preacher. i'm voting for a president. it boils down to who can best represent conservative american beliefs, not religious beliefs."
yes, we all know how unchristian the people are who attend the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. nothing more anti-christian than jesus.
mitt better hope that the bob jones endorsement will give his campaign a boost, as he's still polling a weak 4th, even behind fred "what i don't have in factual knowledge i make up with my boring presentation" thompson:
for romney, the poll numbers aren't as encouraging. while he is leading narrowly in new hampshire and by a wider margin in iowa polls, he remains stuck in fourth nationally with 10 percent, trailing rudy giuliani with 32 percent, fred thompson with 18 percent, and john mccain with 14 percent.
romney is also in fourth in terms of voter enthusiasm. only one-fourth of republicans and republican-leaning independents said they would enthusiastically for romney if he were the nominee, while 38 percent said they would support him mostly to oppose the democratic nominee, and 22 percent said they would either vote for the democrat or stay home. - bosglobe
that's got to be disappointing, considering mitt has spent more money than any other presidential candidate, repubbb or democrat.romney is also in fourth in terms of voter enthusiasm. only one-fourth of republicans and republican-leaning independents said they would enthusiastically for romney if he were the nominee, while 38 percent said they would support him mostly to oppose the democratic nominee, and 22 percent said they would either vote for the democrat or stay home. - bosglobe

Errr, Skip?
You might want to read up a bit on Mormonism.
While they believe in Jesus, he was the, uhhhhhhhhh, imperfect Prophet, and that it took twelve go-rounds to create a Christian church (under Joseph Smith).
It's about as "Christian" as Scientology.

I hear those tour bus bathroom are awfully small and cramped...
carl, my response was too convoluted to write in a simple sentence.
saying a church whose name has "christ" in it isn't christian is rather like saying an organization who has "united states of america" in it isn't american.
but don't take my word for it, ask the mormons.
my point is, your belief is defined by you, not what others say you are. if you think you're christian, it's not up to someone else to say you're not.
it's between you and god (and, i grudgingly admit, christ).
and, for the record, in my view scientology is christian.
which tells you how seriously i take christianity.

THen you're going to love this...The LOLcat Bible
The whole argument missing the point. Jesus was a nice Jewish boy. The Last Supper was a Passover Seder. Christianity could possibly just be really, really, REALLY reform Judaism. Of course, since everything probably does come back to abortion, I'm reminded of the terrible but funny old joke about the Jewish position on abortion: the fetus becomes viable as soon as it graduates from law school or med school.

One, right-wingers typically don't retrieve their wounded, they leave them to perish. Just ask Newt Gingrich's first wife. So even if Larry Craig did get dropped by the Romney campaign, he has no right to complain -- that's what fairweather Republican friends do to one another. And let's not forget that Craig projected big time onto Bill Clinton during Monicagate. Dude should just shut up and resign.
Two, Bob Jones illustrates why the so-called Religious Right has nothing of value to contribute to our society. "Pay no attention to the millions of homeless children, uninsured children, children going to bed hungry on a regular basis, or molested children in our Godblessit nation -- where do you stand on abortion?" That's because children aren't old enough to join the military, so they don't matter. Only after they're old enough to enlist do they matter again, now that they run the risk of looking like king-sized aborted fetuses if their luck turns sour. Funny how the people who oppose abortion don't seem too agitated over the fact that we are at war.
And three: if Mitt doesn't become our next president, I will laugh and laugh. I get this perverse kick out of watching rich people throw their money away on the myths they live in...
