what, it's okay if you're a chickenhawk?

yo, republicans! rush limbaugh has called americans who have both served in the military and are opposed to continuing the war in iraq "phony soldiers". how come i don't hear any of you caterwauling about that? you people didn't keep quiet when you found out about moveon's "general betray us" ad in the new york times, did you? questioning the patriotism of anyone who's ever served in the military is flat out wrong, isn't it? isn't it?

so where's your knee-jerk outrage now?

"now i remember the reason i still link to kos's website on my own blog" update: jon soltz of votevets.org not only takes exception to limbaugh's "phony soldiers" remark, he issues a challenge to the king of all republican shills:

...you weren't just flat out wrong, you offended a majority of those of us who actually had the courage to go to iraq and serve, while you sat back in your nice studio, coming up with crap like this.

my challenge to you, then, is to have me on the show and say all of this again, right to the face of someone who served in iraq. i'll come on any day, any time. not only will i once again explain why your comments were so wrong, but i will completely school you on why your refusal to seek a way out of iraq is only aiding al qaeda and crippling american security.

ball's in your court.


if you would like to hear mr. soltz school the lard out of limbaugh one fine day, go here. (yeah, i know, the odds are insanely good that hell will freeze over before this happens. but come on, it's an affordable bet. think of the payoff should you actually win...)

[ed. addendum: nicole belle of c&l has contact info for some dems that voted to condemn the moveon ad. why not call them and ask if they're planning to condemn limbaugh?]
