skippy's thursday nite music club

one of the skippy's favorites:

buck owens - act naturally

the skippy's would often celebrate their wedding anniversary by driving from los angeles up to bakersfield to see buck's show at the crystal palace. even in his old age, buck gave a hell of a show. he will be missed.

addendum: our good buddy steveaudio sends us this post he did about don rich, buck's long-time guitar player and leader of the buckaroos. steve thinks

don had the good looks, the vocal skills, and the guitar chops to be a true star.

only one thing kept him from it. he played with the greatest country/pop/rock star of the '70: buck
steve has many samples of don's genius over on his site.

In my "Under-appreciated Guitarists" series, I wrote about Don Rich, Buck's guitarist, a few months ago.

Don had the good looks, the vocal skills, and the guitar chops to be a true star.
