I suppose the simplest answer is that the symbol has a long history of NOT being associated with nazism.

It does, but that's not the first thing Americans are likely to think of when they see a swastika. And that includes me -- the first thing I thought of when I saw this building was Hitler. It doesn't help that that place was built in the 60s, well after World War 2, or that its shape "spins" in the same direction as the symbol on the Nazi flag.

If it was up to me, I'd raze that place...

BUt what is the building and does the shape work for its function. I'm sorry but something that can only be observed from overflying aircraft and space and I guess now GoogleEarth that was built in the 60's isn't worth spending millions of dollars on.
