a bee ccd

(colony collapse disorder.) dire. economic. financial. gloomy. hell.
for unknown reasons, bee populations throughout germany are disappearing -- something that is so far only harming beekeepers. but the situation is different in the united states, where bees are dying in such dramatic numbers that the economic consequences could soon be dire. no one knows what is causing the bees to perish, but some experts believe that the large-scale use of genetically modified plants in the u.s. could be a factor. der sch-bee-gel

oh don't be such babies. If the food wasn't safe the FDA wouldn' let it be produced.
Silly.

I figure the same as they do ... I doubt that new corn varieties were tested with *friendly* or *necessary* insects. And likely the corn was out there before it was approved, too.

Genetic plant modification testing is appallingly sloppy. And now, maybe it will turn out to have been suicidally sloppy, too.

There is a lot of bullshit regarding CCD out there. Many bee researchers are still doubtful that this is something new.

Although the Continental United States has reported heavy losses, it is not epidemic yet.

The current rage is blaming all this on cellphones. This has already been debunked, but is still getting heavy media play.
