saturday nite music club

Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby and John Anderson singing Rick James' Super Freak.

[ed.note: skippy, in his previous incarnation as a radio comedy producer back in the 90's, had the great pleasure of meeting john anderson. mr. anderson was a sweet, gracious individual who took time to listen to skippy's comedy and compliment him. we are quite proud to feature him on this wonderfully imaginative cover.]

i cited this as an example of blowing sides out of genres. it's something i have loved doing with music my whole career. we were talking about leonard cohen covers and i told about a group of guys i play with who put out a bluegrass version of cohen's no diamonds in the mine we also kicks the sides right out of queen's fat bottomed girls.

this is some genius stuff. not surprising at all when you realize who's doing the playing.

Oh, man, Skippy, this ain't right. And yet, I could not look away.
This proves there are only 2 kinds of music:

Good

&

Bad.

Excellent!
