stoopid

it's amusing to watch the hardly-ever-right wing build straw men in such a desperate way these days. the reaction of the mighty wurlitzer to john kerry's remarks about those who don't study hard get stuck in iraq begs the question, do these guys even think two steps ahead?

aside from the obvious fact that kerry was calling awol stupid, the hardly-ever-right's indignation is entirely built on a foundation of sand.

if indeed, as the pundits insist, kerry was calling the men and women of the armed forces who are in iraq "stupid," then, perforce, the hardly-ever-right has to admit that they are actually stuck there.

kerry didn't say "people who don't study wind up serving several tours of duty in iraq." no, he said "stuck."

so if he meant the military personnel, as insanity and mccain't insist he did, then those same pundits have to also concede that those men and women are stuck there.

and who stuck them there? three guesses...

I agree with you, Skip, and a very interesting nuance you just put up about the "stuck" portion and how the right now has to explain that.

Very nicely played, sir.

Yes, he left two words out of the joke (e.g. get your country stuck in Iraq) and my first reaction was "Goddammit, John, you couldn't tell a joke when you were at a party, much less in front of a camera!"

But the more I thought about it, the more I realized, maybe it wasn't a mistake. And his defense was honest and honorable.

nice point, carl. if kerry was able to tell a joke, he'd be president now.

No, if Kerry wasn't a loser, he'd be President now. He promised to fight for the Presidency. He broke his promise. 'Nuff said. I don't have the time of day for the loser.

Hi skippy! I'm sorry I missed this this morning. Ahhh, remember the days when we were hoping for an intelligent president? Even if everything he said got twisted into unrecognizable shapes. Now it looks like a possible Swiftboater may make a bid for prez in 08
