to the latimes, re: atrios's op-ed piece on the lamont/lieberman race:


it is good to know there is someone out there who gets what is going on. sen. joseph lieberman (d-conn.) should just switch to the republican party and be done with it.

the democrats are having a hard enough time sticking to the message that this is the most inept administration in history.

richard nixon is no longer the worst president ever, but the democrats are certainly the worst opposition party ever.

addendum: mark schmitt, writing over at the tpm cafe, echoes our sentiments about hardly-ever-right op-ed writers that warn against a lieberman loss:

this seems to be the week when the republican right (kondracke, chris caldwell) has decided to make joe lieberman’s cause their own. which is fine, but their opinion about who should be the democratic nominee in a state they don’t live in is about as relevant as my opinion about who should be the next president of france.
