skippy writes a letter

we were pleased to read the nice piece by ana marie cox (aka wonkette) on time.com which painted a respectful picture of yearlykos.

but then we read atrios's account of her appearance on good morning america where she propagated the false meme (which we have debunked, on more than one occasion) that "kos" is 0-20 in endorsing successful candidates.

so skippy, fresh from ykos, writes ana marie:

ana marie,

i wanted to say you did a nice job on the time.com piece about yearlykos. cute, but fair, and respectful in your own snarky way. thanks.

but then i read that you promoted on gma the false piece of information that "kos" has a record of 0-20 in endorsing and supporting winning candidates (don't know whether you mean kos the person, the website, or the community, but it doesn't matter, it's false on all three levels; a falsity that we called ben domenech on during his first, and almost last, day at the washpost).

surely you know that the kos endorsed reps. stephanie herseth of s. dakota and ben chandler of kentucky, sens. barak obama of illinois and ken salazar of colorado, gov. tim kaine of virginia, and most recently, jon tester of montana.

if you like i'll be happy to send you links to the pieces at dailykos which endorse said candidates and encourage the readers to do the same.

the only way one can spin the dailykos endorsement record into a total loss is to set the parameters to "if you only count elections in which the kos-endorsed candidate lost, then kos is 0 for 20."

thanks in advance for correcting your approach to this issue.
