oooh....that's scary, keeds!

the asspress tells us awol has hit new lows in their poll:

president bush’s approval ratings hit a series of new lows in an ap-ipsos poll that also shows republicans surrendering their advantage on national security — grim election-year news for a party struggling to stay in power.

democratic leaders predicted they will seize control of one or both chambers of congress in november. republicans said they feared the worst unless the political landscape quickly changes.

“these numbers are scary. we’ve lost every advantage we’ve ever had,” gop pollster tony fabrizio said. “the good news is democrats don’t have much of a plan. the bad news is they may not need one.”
we've got to go with georgia10 on this one:

i say, please, shut up. it's not as reasonable as schumer makes it that we will win back the senate. it's slightly more possible that we may make gains in the house, perhaps enough to reclaim the majority, but the election is seven months away.

these are amazing numbers for us, but it's not reasonable to forecast a democratic revolution when there's still seven months available for swiftboating, voter suppression tactics, gay marriage amendments, and campaign shennanigans. we're in great shape seven months out, but let's not kid ourselves. the gop machine has yet to rev up its engine of fund-raising and propaganda.
aside from getting the link from her, we agree that there's too much time in which too much can happen. she's assuming the repubbbs will pull something (and they will, make no mistake), but personally we think that even with every advantage, the democrats will surely find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (if their past performance and current refusal to actualy speak up about anything at all is any indication).

still, it's good to see the repubbbs sh*tting in their pants.
