it's not bad coming in second when the logic behind it is so nice

thanks to bob geiger for considering this humble site on his short list for his koufax awards vote.

we can't argue with his logic about finally voting for crooks and liars...we have met john in person, and a nicer guy you couldn't hope to find (plus he was incredibly happy to meet us; a plus in our book any day).

we also have to thank bob for pointing out that we were nominated for best blog (non-professional). we didn't even realize that. we are thankful to whomever so nominated us (personally we were happy just to get into the "best group blog" category, because that's the real reason we invited all our co-bloggers to join us. that we got scads of great blogging out of it was just a happy accident).

but mostly, we want to say to bob, no worries for the early links and props and shout outs that we sent your way, as we figure that since we were a young, unknown site once, and relied on the kindness of strangers, like markos and duncan and jeralyn and glenn, the only thing to do is pay it forward.

the best currency in blogtopia (aside from any phrases that yes! we coin) is linkage, and we try to be generous and free with ours. because we figure the more voices of dissent fighting the sea of bush monkeys, the better (as eric once said).

ok, now that we got that "humble" sh*t out of the way, fercryininthesink, go vote for us! (either for best blog or for best group blog!) we didn't even know we were nominated! hurry up! if we lose again this time, we're going to have to write only about marsupials for a whole year just to get nominated for best single-issue blog!
