favorite rock songs...

i have this pet hypothesis that states you can learn everything you need to know about any given person by learning what his or her favorite rock song is -- or so i said the other day (bad blogwhore). my all-time favorite is "starless" by king crimson. here are the lyrics:

sundown dazzling day,
gold through my eyes,
but my eyes, turned within only see
starless and bible black.

old friend charity,

and the smile signals emptiness for me.

ice blue silver sky

and that's it. the thing is, this song is twelve minutes long -- not a whole lot of singing going on, is there? you need to hear the music that goes with it to believe it. i played it for a friend many years ago, and he had trouble sleeping for the next few nights. my bad.
