what's the matter with kids today?

proprietor dave mccauley of the taste of heaven cafe in the andersonville section of chicago doesn't care what's the matter with your kids, he just wants them to stop creating a disturbance, according to this detroit news article. and while some people are ticked off at him for not welcoming their children to run around, screaming and carrying on and falling asleep on the floor in the coffee line, other applaud his efforts.

the article is wrong, however, to characterize this as a difference between parents and childless people. it's about good manners. it always has been. "good manners are the glue of society. if you don't want to be a part of society, jerry, why don't you move to the east side!?!" according to cosmo kramer.
