the boxer rebellion

ssteur's dkos diary has some interesting news...apparently sen. barbara boxer has indicated she will stand with rep. john conyers in questioning the electoral vote (it only takes one rep and one senator) if she receives enough feedback:

------ forwarded messagefrom : lydia f

just came from a group which gathered at senator barbara boxer's office here in fresno. there were about 20 of us representing fresno, visalia, porterville and springville. it was awesome since they had to come to fresno through the rain... we were told that senator boxer was willing to be the senator who will ask for the re-election in ohio provided she sees numbers. this is a grassroots effort and it depends on each of us to pass this information on. (see below for offices and phone numbers)
this is very important, folks!

call senator boxer's offices on wednesday (the electoral vote is officially on thursday, jan. 6). this is especially necessary for california natives!

here are sen. boxer's numbers:

skippy himself called the senator's washington office this afternoon. after getting several busy signals (a good sign, we hope!) and a few "no service messages" on his cell, he finally got a recording of sen. boxer asking him to stay on the line for one of her staff to speak to him. some classical music played. finally, a young woman who later identified herself as "andrea" came on the line.

skippy identified himself as a resident of los angeles, one of sen. boxer's constituents, and someone who had voted for the senator every time she ran.

skippy urged sen. boxer to stand with rep. conyers in contesting the electoral vote, and added further that if she and democrats would not take this stand, skippy could no longer see himself supporting the party or voting for her ever again.

andrea promised to let the senator know how skippy felt.

but skippy can't do it alone. get everybody that you know in california to call.
